- Is Whetstone free?
- Free includes unlimited rewrites, every built-in Optimize preset, one connection, and two editable user presets. Pro is $29 one-time.
- Does Whetstone include an AI provider?
- No. Whetstone sends your draft directly from your Mac to the provider you choose, using your API key. Index9 does not proxy or store the request.
- What happens when the trial ends?
- After the 14-day Pro trial, Whetstone returns to Free. Presets and connections remain stored; nothing is deleted. Extra connections wait for Pro, and presets beyond the Free limit become read-only.
- What macOS version?
- macOS 15.0+. Direct download, notarized, with updates in the app.
