Hardware limit

Fan control is verified on M1 and M3/M4. Not every Mac is verified. First takeover on some machines takes a few seconds. If firmware will not hand over, Windrose says so.

Temperature curves: Drag a temperature→RPM line; fans follow heat.
Restore to Auto: Fans return to macOS control on quit, sleep, or a crash.
Panic: A panic temperature opens them wide first, holds max through a crash until cool, then Auto.
